This new, 8-day photography adventure is the jewel in Propellor Project’s crown! We’ll travel the entire length of ‘Australia’s Coral Coast’ as we guide your search for the ultimate photograph, visiting locations including the Kalbarri Skywalk and Pink Lake, Monkey Mia, Francois Peron National Park, Coral Bay and of course the 6th best beach in the world in the 8th best Aussie town – Turquoise Bay & Exmouth! (Trip Advisor’s annual Travelers Choice Best Of The Best Awards For Beaches).
We’ve taken care of the accommodation (powered sites) and transport, so pack your swag or tent, charge up your camera or drone and step aboard our commuter bus (with 4WD support vehicle), leaving from Perth on June 14. Trainers Scott Slawinski (Base Imagery) and Dylan Dehaas Films have used years of commercial photography and videography experience in the region to put together a scintillating itinerary, including a door-off scenic photography flight over Francois Peron National Park and finishing the week with a private sunset sail along the back of the Ningaloo Reef aboard Windcheetah, Ningaloo Discovery’s 60-foot luxury sailing catamaran.
This is a week not to be missed! Numbers strictly limited.
We depart Perth in the morning and make our way up the coast to Indian Ocean Drive, the start of our Coral Coast Adventure. First stop – the old Jurien Bay Jetty. Next we’ll visit the Pink Lake at Hutt Lagoon, then onto Kalbarri where we’ll set up at Red Bluff Tourist Park. We’ll head out for an epic sunset shoot at our favourite spot along the Kalbarri Coastal Cliffs, where amazing rock formations rise from the water and decaying sandstone cliffs plunge more than 100m into the ocean!
We’ll start the day with a spectacular sunrise at the Kalbarri Skywalk & Nature’s Window in Kalbarri National Park. The innovative tourism precinct in the park includes the twin skywalks, built 100m apart, which project 25m and 17m beyond the gorge rim, more than 100m above the Murchison River. After the shoot we’ll be hitting the road to Monkey Mia and checking in at the RAC Resort. A sunset shoot and some beverages on the beach will be the perfect way to end the day!
Day 3 sees us on a 4WD adventure into Francois Peron National Park. The National Park is known for it’s red cliffs, white beaches, blue water and lagoons. Drones will be handy inclusion in your kit as this area produces spectacular aerial imagery! We’ll finish the day with another epic Coral Coast sunset shoot.
At first light we’ll be packing up camp and making our way to Denham, where we’ll join Shark Bay Aviation for a photography experience like no other; back-to-back scenic photo flights (with the rear doors removed) over Francois Peron National Park. It’ll then be time to head to Ningaloo! We’ll punch out the 5.5 hour drive to Coral Bay, arriving in the afternoon at Bayview Ningaloo. There’ll be some downtime to relax or explore the bay before we photograph both the bay and Mauds Landing, know for it’s abundant marine life and beautiful turquoise waters.
A slightly later start will give everyone the chance to rejuvenate, before we head off-road, traveling north of the township via 4WD to shoot a secret photo destination up the coast! It’ll be then a short drive onwards to the highlight of our Coral Coast adventure – Exmouth! We’ll set up at the RAC Exmouth Cape Holiday Park and get stuck into some editing or relaxing by the pool, as we keep an eye on the conditions for the best location for an afternoon & sunset shoot.
Our first full day in Exmouth has us kicking off at sunrise in Cape Range National Park where we’ll trek the exhilarating Charles Knife Edge Walk. From there it’ll be back to town for breakfast, then out to explore some of best locations in the west, including a snorkeling and photography trip to Turquoise Bay.
Our second day in Exmouth is as relaxing as you’d like it. Book yourself on a whale shark or fishing tour (advanced bookings essential) or explore the west side of the cape on a photography excursion with Scott & Dylan. We’ll be visiting places like Yardie Creek Gorge and Osprey Bay.
We finish the day with our friends at Ningaloo Discovery for a private sunset sail along the back of the Ningaloo Reef aboard 60-foot catamaran Windcheetah.
